Ministry Update February 2018

Image
Hello Folks, 2018 has started out with a bang! I want to take a moment to share some news of my ministry life, both globally through HiS PRINT and locally through The Gathering. Being the Director of The Gathering in Houston, under Executive Director Roger Wernette, has been a huge blessing and has allowed me to watch God orchestrate opportunities here in Houston, to reach people for Christ, as well as encourage Christians who are desiring a life that reflects Him. Being a part of both ministries has been rewarding and has kept me extremely busy.  First of all PRAISE for funds that were raised to match a $50,000 gift given at the end of 2017 to The Gathering. As a result, we were able to complete the match and were blessed by each of you who generously gave to help us financially. In the next two months, The Gathering will be hosting two major events that are centered around leadership and outreach.  On March 8th we are partnering with Integrus Leadership to host a...

HiS PRINT Update - Baseball

Image
Hello Folks, Praying you all had a wonderful God filled ThanksGiving! This is a brief update on the Sisak Storks Baseball Club and The NEST! Recently the Storks had a family day to celebrate the fall season and to spend time as family and friends. They had a meal and played a parent/player friendly game! It's so amazing to see the parents getting involved, following the games and participating in their children's sport. The pictures reveal the fun had by all! The scoreboard, donated by the teams in Zagreb, has arrived at The NEST and will be installed at the start of spring. This is a huge addition and advancement for the future! Be sure to look for the next blog with updates on our American Football developments and the Spring 2018 MLO details! Have a wonderful God filled day! David

Happy ThanksGiving

HiS PRINT Update on The NEST and Sisak Storks

Image
Hello Folks, As was mentioned in the overview update, we have a lot going on both here stateside as well as overseas, 6,000 miles away! I am going to attempt to give more detail on all those items listed, a subject at a time. So I will fist talk about our Storks Little League baseball team and what is going on at The NEST. Since the Astro's won the World Series, I figured it was only fitting I start out with our baseball stories! The NEST is going to be hosting the European Baseball 15 Under Championships this July 16-22. We were blessed to host the event back in 2012, the year after the field was built and we dedicated it to playing the game of baseball, but also in sharing the love of Jesus. The city is getting behind this event and has had architect meetings to come and give the field a make over, by creating a warning track for the outfield and provide electricity and water to the clubhouse. The baseball field that hosted the teams from Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is b...

HiS PRINT Update

Hello Folks, It’s been a while since my last blog and I want to update you on all that is going on with HiS PRINT. God is continuing to open doors and provide new opportunities! There are so many that today I will give you a brief overview of everything, and over the next several weeks I will provide detailed blogs on each. Here is what is happening with HiS PRINT in The Balkans and stateside! The NEST – Baseball Field of the Sisak Storks Teams from Zagreb have provided a new inning-by-inning scoreboard since their ball field was being demolished by the construction of a school. The Nest will be the host of the 2018 European 15U Baseball Championships! This will be the first time since the 2012 Championships. Local architects and city project managers are providing upgrades to the field and the club house. The Storks Little League team hosted a tournament and raised a $100 donation for the Houston flood victims. March 2018 MLO (Mission Learning Opportunity) Our Marc...

Hello Folks, Not sure how to begin this email update with all that has gone on around us here in Texas, as well as what has been happening with the ministry in the midst of it all, but will attempt to hit just the highlights. As all of you know, Houston and the surrounding gulf coast was slammed really bad and hard with Hurricane Harvey and the flooding that followed displacing many, many people. We are still in the rebuilding phase and for many that will be a very long process. My family was blessed to have been spared any damage or flooding, but we know many that were less fortunate. And through the process of helping flood victims, have met many others who lost most of their homes and the possessions in them. Please PRAY for everyone’s recovery and rebuilding! URGENT PRAYER! We have had to move out of our Pearland warehouse, the location where we were blessed to store our donated equipment for the past 2 years. We have been blessed to have received that warehouse rent free and ...

WHOM SHALL I SEND?

Image
In Isaiah 6 verse 8, Isaiah hears the voice of the Lord saying: "Whom shall I send, who will go for us?" Isaiah's response was not simply "Here I am", but his was "Here I am, send me!" Do you see the difference in those two responses? Saying "here I am" only, implies a doubt or hesitation, only acknowledging that you have heard! By following that response up with, "send me!", shows determination, enthusiasm, dedication and most importantly dependence on the Lord, to do what He is asking!  What is your response? To go and be sent is to be open to walk where God leads, trusting in His Holy Spirit to guide and leaning on His understanding and not your own! All of us are called to reach others! God didn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called and He has called us all to testify for Him. For most of us it doesn't mean traveling 6,000 miles away, but simply walking 6 feet away to share His love with someone, more accur...

Home Sweet Home

Image
Being back on Texas soil and in my Baby Doll's arms is a great place to be! I am so thankful that is where I am, but the safest and best place to be is in God's will and that is where I was and pray I will continually be! Back in my Baby Doll's arms! Being gone just short of two months is a long time away without your bride beside you, so being back home is a huge blessing! Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support for H i S PRINT and our Summer 2017 MLO (Mission Learning Opportunity) efforts which just came to a close. But please don't let those prayers cease! H i S PRINT has grown into a full time ministry that is continually doing God's work throughout the year! Currently we are planning a fall event state-side, continuing collection and pick-up of donated equipment around the city, and are working on our two 2018 MLOs (planned for next March and June/July.) As I reflect back on these past 2 months, there are so many remarkable and AWEMAXING ...

SWEET HOME ALA - NOPE, TEXAS

Image
Started early this morning for my 16 hour trek back into my Baby Doll's arms! I am sitting in the airport in Frankfort Germany and just had a God moment! This is like the third one today and if I stay awake long enough on this next 11 hour flight, I gotta feeling there will be more!  First, the morning started when Janko, our loved brother of HiS HOUSE, got up and took HiS house companion to the airport! Although we were both sad, we were also excited to witness together all that God accomplished these past 2 months. Spending time in prayer on the drive up was special and I had to stop several times to take some deep breaths just to keep my composure! Still failed at doing so, I just love that man so much! I tried to convince him several times that Lewis and Clark (our island expedition names) should not separate and that he should come on back to Texas with me to see everyone! Here is the reaction I got: Janko's reaction to coming to Texas! Needless to say he'...
