Fall '22 MiLO - Blog 5 Oh Happy Day! These past couple of days have been days of celebrating one thing or another. We celebrated completing the painting of the rooms in H i S House Saturday morning and put the furniture all back together. We now have a completely functioning working ministry house. Welcome to His House, ready to receive visitors We spent the afternoon preparing the house and cafe to host a party for those we have formed relationships over the years from the different walks of life in and around Sisak. We had brothers and sisters from the churches, as well as friends from the different organizations we have ministered to these past 17 years. Members of the Storks baseball club, coach and some of the players; the president and family of the figure skating club and one of the owners of the dance studio. We had a great time for over two hours and had over 30 people come and join us. Party with those we have developed relationships through the years Along with th...

Fall '22 MiLO - Blog 4 Heart Skips a Beat Ever had that situation where your heart feels like it skips a beat or your mind begins to race because you felt like you were in trouble? That happened to me today when I was standing out in the middle of our driveway beside H i S Place, directing Lee, who is two stories up on the roof working on the chimney. While standing there, up drives a police car! I immediately begin to think of what I did wrong, where was my passport and was I in trouble for something, maybe they saw Lee up on the roof while they were driving by. My reaction was to either go and hide or call out to Janko, so I immediately yelled out to Janko so he could deal with them and save me from being taken away. Not to forget, that while I’m being distracted by going through all this in my head, Lee is still on the roof.   As the doors open on both sides of the police car, I notice Janko is nowhere to be found and I’ve already been seen so I can’t hide. In t...

Fall '22 MiLO - Day 3 Let the Work Begin   Work at HiS House What a blessing it is when God brings together His army of workers to travel thousands of miles to come together to fix and paint walls, inspect roofs, fix chimneys, hang sheetrock, and just be available to help where needed; while doing so brings encouragement and blessings to those you came to serve! Work Detail at H i S House Over the past couple of days, Janko and I have welcomed past H i S Print members to H i S House, who are coming do just that; work on H i S House and repair where needed. Lee and his precious daughter Ella came in from Maine on Tuesday. They had served at H i S House along with Lee’s wife and son back in 2018, for 6 weeks. They had helped with the cafe and storage areas along with general upkeep and maintenance. What a blessing it is to have them back. Lee & Ella from Maine, former H i S House dwllers Rock and Sharon Beal came in on Tuesday and Joe Page arrived on Wednesday, all fr...

Fall '22 MLO - Blog 1 Today, I embark for our Fall/Winter MiLO (My Mission Learning Opportunity) to Croatia! It is exciting to return to my home away from home at HiS House in Sisak, Croatia, but I leave behind family and responsibilities here at home. My bride will not be able to make this mission and I already miss her. Our plan was for her to join me, but our plans are not always God’s. I have learned the hard way, that following any plan except God’s, brings disappointment and often frustration. She was unable to get off work and will have to stay back here in Texas and hold down the fort. Please pray for His protection over her while I am away. God’s protection physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. She has been such a blessing and gift these past 32 years of marriage, which we just celebrated on Thursday, November 3. Thank you, God, for such a wonderful helpmate.   In these past two years and all that we have gone through in our family and my health, not to m...
