Fall '22 MiLO - Day 3
Let the Work Begin

Work at HiS House

What a blessing it is when God brings together His army of workers to travel thousands of miles to come together to fix and paint walls, inspect roofs, fix chimneys, hang sheetrock, and just be available to help where needed; while doing so brings encouragement and blessings to those you came to serve!

Over the past couple of days, Janko and I have welcomed past HiS Print members to HiS House, who are coming do just that; work on HiS House and repair where needed. Lee and his precious daughter Ella came in from Maine on Tuesday. They had served at HiS House along with Lee’s wife and son back in 2018, for 6 weeks. They had helped with the cafe and storage areas along with general upkeep and maintenance. What a blessing it is to have them back.

Rock and Sharon Beal came in on Tuesday and Joe Page arrived on Wednesday, all from Texas and HiS Print regulars for years. Having their hands and feet here to help where needed and the encouragement of their eagerness to serve is such a blessing. The teams will continue to grow over the next few days, as well as shrink, when people begin returning home. I am blessed beyond measure by who God calls and orchestrates His team to come and serve.

As mentioned before, this region of Croatia has been rocked by earthquakes these past two years. The big one hit back in the end of 2020 and many more have rocked the area ever since. The damage that occurs is not often evident and things seem to be fine on the surface, but then damage begins to show from a problem created. As you investigate and assess the damage, you begin to search for the cause.

Lee climbed up on the roof to inspect an area around one of our chimneys and found that the earthquake had separated the roofing from the chimney, leaving a significant gap where rainwater has come in and ruined the wall in the loft! The damage was significant on the walls in the loft surrounding the chimney and had we only repaired the walls and not looked for the cause, the damage would have reoccurred.

This is a great reminder to ask of ourselves; we need to not just gloss over or fix something that has been damaged, but to really inspect and find out the cause of the damage that has become evident. That often takes time to dig deeper and become more open to the Lord's hand of discovery and His working at repairing the cracks of hurt or unforgiveness that have gone unchecked. But His handiwork is worth it and the finished product is better than the old, we just have to be willing to allow His hand to work on our life.

Emmaus Center

After a productive day around the house, we finished up Wednesday with a beautiful night of worship, prayer, Bible Study and fellowship with some of our Croatian brothers and sisters. It was an amazing study on 1 John 4 and the amazing love we receive from God and the importance of our sharing that love with others.

Worship with Brothers and Sisters
God continues to bless us with Janko opening his heart and home to us, and the opportunity to worship with our brothers and sisters is always a huge blessing. Blessed to be a part of what God has formed in relationships, creating new ones and deepening existing ones. May we always give God the glory and remain flexible enough for the Holy Spirit to use us where His desire is, even if or when it can become uncomfortable.

Remember Jesus loves you and so do I!

HE DID IT!
Let’s Do IT!

By the way, while we are here doing global ministry, our local footprint and ministry continues to grow. We just received two Longhorns to join our HiS Herd out at HiS Place. Brett and Marsha Posey continue to take care of God’s livestock provisions and we want to use them to share His love to those who come and visit.
New additions to HiS Herd:  2 Longhorns!
So come join us out on Pa’use Porch and enjoy a time of pausing before the Lord. Who knows, that may be just the place He wants you to start inspecting and looking for any damage that has caused cracks in your life. We’ll have a chair waiting for you!
