2022 Summer MLO Blog 4

Summer MLO Blog 4 What a scurry of activity these past 5 days have been and I can see how out of mission shape I am in! Of course the hip surgery has something to do with that, but the rush of activity and going from place to place really has caught up with me. I even have tried to get some rest every afternoon and put my feet up for awhile, but the activity gets the best of me! I am praying that I will get that energy and strength back, but it seems so far off in the distance that it’s unattainable. That won’t stop me from trying and working on getting better everyday!   Ambassadors for Christ team heading back to Holland The Ambassadors Football Coaches left at 4:00am Saturday morning to head back home to Holland. It was such a pleasure to meet them and walk alongside them as an encourager. Their camp had 115 kids from ages 6 to 14 and they all seemed to have a blast. The camp was a huge success and made an impression on the players as well as the parents. The ca...

Summer MLO Blog 3 What a scurry of activity that we have going on at H i S House with the soccer coaches spending devotional time and breakfast with us every morning before they start their busy day of camp and other activities they do with the campers. It gives me pleasure and brings back memories, because it reminds me of our teams when we are here doing camps and other community service activities in the city. I look forward to having our teams return in the near future.  H i S House is finally finished with the café, kitchen and new bathroom stage. Those additions are so key for supporting and accommodating large groups. The walk into the café used to be gravel but now has nice pavers that allows us to track in less dirt when entering the café and kitchen.  Pavers leading into HiS House cafe The grape vines on the front porch are in full bloom and many clusters of grapes are starting to appear. The shade that the vine provides under the porch roof is an additional c...

Summer MLO Blog 2 What a blessing it is to host the  Ambassador’s For Christ  mission team here at H i S House. There are 18 members of the ministry team and they are doing camp at a soccer club on the other side of the city of Sisak. Camp goes from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm, and they have over 100 children participating (ages 6-14.) The day starts with soccer camp, followed by lunch, some form of activity, then rest, English class, afternoon camp, then a form of gospel presentation. The Ambassador team, which is from all over Scandinavia, are utilizing local organizations and ministries to help them in conducting the camp. One group is responsible for the afternoon activities, another group for the English classes, the soccer club handles the lunch and rest and the Ambassador Team does the soccer camps.   It has been a blessing and pleasure to witness this cooperation and unity first hand between all of the organizations and to see many of the children and pare...

Summer MLO Blog 1 Thank you so much for your prayers. They are working and God is listening. We got to the airport with no problem and no traffic, got luggage checked in with the help of Sonjay! He was a God-send and helped us navigate the baggage check-in outside. We got in the line for security and I was struggling with juggling the carry-on & backpack in one hand and my cane in the other. Out of nowhere I here a voice asking if I needed a wheelchair. God sends Hector, who picks me up, places my luggage under my chair and takes me to the front of the line and through security.  Hector also checked me in to have a wheelchair all the way through to Croatia. Thank you Hector! Me, Hector and Robert Cissell We made it to and through Munich, praising God that we landed at Gate 21. Our plane to Croatia was at Gate 39 - a straight LONG WALK, but no security lines! In Croatia we had a long line at Customs.  I should have accepted the offer from the airport s...

Blog April/May 2022

Blog - April/May 2022 I don’t really know where to start, so much has happened and is happening, that I should have gotten something out a lot sooner. How about start with an apology for my lack of promptness in putting this together before now. But I do have a pretty good excuse. I had a total hip replacement back on April 5th and have been recovering and in rehab since. I can say that I am getting stronger every day and more confident in my walking, but I still catch myself in coach mode, and telling myself to get up and stop faking it! Old habits are hard to break. Realization, one day at a time taking one step at a time!    Ukranian Refugee Aid We recently met a young Ukrainian immigrant woman named Nastya. Nastya felt the calling from the Lord to go to Poland to find her sister who had fled the war and bring her here to Texas.  HiS PRINT helped Nastya travel to Poland, find her sister and nephew and then travel through E...
