Three Areas of Ministry for HiS Print

Shipping What’s Collected to
Global Destinations

One of the hardest things I have found to do, especially as I grow older and obviously not wiser, is focus! It seems like I have my mind headed in 100 different directions, and it may have been that way when I was younger, but back then I had the mobility and dexterity to handle most of it, along with the stupidity of not knowing any better. Now is not the case and although, it is quite frustrating, it has taught me a valuable Biblical lesson in perseverance and that takes mountains of patience. Maybe you can relate to some degree: you read something and whether it’s your mind concentrating on something entirely different or what you read had so much information that you found it difficult to comprehend it all.

I was finding that when it came to writing the blogs for the ministry. Often times, in a 6 week to two-month time span, so much would occur that I didn’t know where to start, so would let that distract me from ever beginning. Then you and all our supporters would have no way of knowing what was going on in the ministry and what had recently happened, which is not fair to you. Your support means a lot to us, and you deserve to know what your support has allowed us to reach locally as well as globally. I also have no desire to overload you with more communication or write so much that it sends your brain into mush trying to take it all in. So, I have decided to break down the blogs into areas of ministry and focus on that area alone and not try and pull in everything from all three. Hopefully, that will help both of us to keep in better communication and comprehend what is going on in HiS Print: Glocally, Locally and Globally.

For over 12 years we have witnessed God’s hand connect local people that donate their used sport equipment, which supply global needs to those who reach out to us to help their clubs or communities. It has been such a blessing to witness this donation after donation, collection after collection, request after request, met need after need, shipment after shipment, year after year! If I could describe it with one word, it would be Remarkable. To describe in a sentence: Watching God initiate the calling on one’s heart to share what they have so others can enjoy, has been remarkable. This chain of events does not happen magically or overnight. It takes a lot of prayer, hard work, prayer, dedicated hours, prayer, determined manpower, prayer and finances to get it done. I am going to try and share that experience so you can get a glimpse into what God continues to do through the Glocal Ministry of HiS Print and how remarkable it is. In case you are wondering, Glocal is not a misspelling of a word and no, it is not a word in the dictionary. It is a word we came up with to best describe what is accomplished: collecting local donations to ship to global destinations.
Teams and Clubs can reach out to us on our website requesting equipment. This gives us the opportunity to know who they are and have communication to find out more about them.

After initial contact with them, we will send a wish list for equipment that they desire to receive. We communicate with them up front that we will most likely not be able to meet all their needs but will do the best we can to help their clubs. There is a limit on the number of items they can request as well.

We take that wish list with us along with a packing list as we begin to pull equipment to meet the needs and record the item we have pulled, the quantity of that item and the weight of the total items.
Packing takes time and effort but is always a blessing. We always include Bibles and devotionals in with the equipment.
When a box is packed all items must be weighed and counted so that the total amount of each box can be included on the shipping manifest. It is a long process but must be done for every shipment we send out.
Once the boxes are full, they must be covered and then wrapped for shipping. The wrapping protects it from moisture while traveling on the container ship.
Once the boxes are wrapped a shipping company is called and sent the shipping manifest that gives the final inventory, size and number of boxes as well as the total pounds for the shipment. Then a truck or container is sent to pick up the shipment and then it heads to the Port of Houston and loads on a ship.
There are a lot of factors that can influence delivery and one of the biggest is weather. The average time for delivery is 35 days on the water and then it goes into Customs before being released to the recipients. We often include a HiS Print flag for them to display at the field.
This has been a huge blessing for the past 12 years to help those who have reached out to ask us. We often receive thank you posts and often get surprising gifts in the mail. It will be a pleasure to share and display all those gifts in our home office of the God Garage once it is built, for all to see and enjoy.
I was recently asked by a Sports Agent and a NFL Representative about our staff at HiS Print. I said with a smile, “You are looking at it.” The thousands of pounds to over 50 countries has been accomplished with the blessing of volunteers. They give up their time and use their energy to help HiS Print accomplish the opportunity God has placed in front of us these past 12 years. What a blessing it has been to be a part of it and how blessed I have been by all the volunteers who have helped make this happen. Through their individual efforts of Collecting, Inventorying, Weighing, Packing, Wrapping and Shipping Donated Equipment, thousands of players have had the opportunity to play a game they have fallen in love with, and we have had the opportunity to love them through that and share the Great News of Jesus as the reason why!

6 Continents
52 Countries
146 Cities
157 Clubs
150,000 pounds
75 tons

There are four main processes that must be in place to pull this all together and make it happen.
1-Shipping, Receiving & Customs, which I just gave you a glimpse of and
2-Donations
3-Volunteers
4-Storage Space

I’ll soon be sharing blogs that will help understand each of the other  processes in detail to give you a better idea and understanding of how this all works and God’s hand behind and in it, from pick up to delivery.

Please join us in prayer for the completion of the God Garage, which we are presently in a pause building out at HiS Place. We have covered the cost for every step up to this point, which includes the property clearing, architecture design and plans, dirt pad and the concrete foundation. We are currently in the process of raising the funds to purchase the building, God Garage, and hire a construction crew to put in place. The funds are over halfway raised and upon completion, will allow us to bring all the equipment we have spread around Houston, Manvel, Pearland and Texas City, which includes 15 locations. We are excited about the opportunity which will allow us to be better stewards of what God has collected and share with the world the good news of His provision and love.

God bless and thank you for taking the time to read through what God has been doing and appreciate your prayers and financial provisions to complete the project God has laid before us and the continued opportunity to share around the world through the Glocal ministry. Keep on the journey God has you on and we’ll do the same.

Remember to pay attention to His signs, listen to His instructions and take it one step at a time.

HE DID IT!
David
