The Journey In Life – Take It One Step At A Time

For me and others that may be reading this, that first step in life is not even a distant memory. If we could remember that first step, I am sure we would see those around us, encourage us to take it, be amazed when we did and cheer for us to make more! Then it’s not long after those first steps, we take on our mobile journey in life, which is when our steps start to get restricted. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, as well as babysitters are trying to keep us contained and restrict where we go for our safety and everyone, especially the parents wish, in the back of their minds, they would have never encouraged us to take that first step. We become an uncontainable and uncontrollable human who is taking a journey of life that is full of curiosity and not knowing any better, we walk into the midst of danger, because we don’t know the difference between what is safe and harmful. We just want to travel and have the freedom to explore, never taking into consideration the consequences where our next step may lead us. Praise God for parents and those who care for us to help us walk in the way of safety and learn the path of discernment as we grow up.

We can all equate that with our own journey with God. He gives us freedom of choice, but not freedom of consequences. The first step in our journey with God is whether we choose Him or not, Because of God’s great love He allows us to choose Him or the world. He loves the world but forgives only those who step toward Jesus and accept Him as their Savior. That comes with the freedom of choice, but not the freedom of the consequences of that choice. Him or Hell? The same with Christ followers. He gives all of us a choice of whether to just sign on with Him as our Savior, “our get out of Hell free card”, or to live for Him as our Lord and commit our life to Him. Savior or Lord? We could take another step in that journey with God by asking ourselves, are we still holding on to something that doesn’t allow us to completely commit all that we are? Half or Fully Committed? Remember Jesus said in order to follow Him we needed to deny ourselves, pick up the cross and follow Him on the journey of an Eternal lifetime! That Eternal lifetime journey begins the moment we accept Jesus as our Savior. John 17:3 It’s not some distant destination that becomes our goal but is a step-by-step journey that shows the love that comes from God and willing to show that to others.

The Three Ministry Areas of HisPrint

HiS Print has been on this journey with Him for 19 years in the global ministry of overseas missions to Croatia and Eastern Europe, 12 years with the glocal ministry of shipping globally sports equipment collected locally and for 6 years we have the local ministry of loving people where they are until they ask why at HiS Place in Alvin, Texas. We have had our share of growing pains on this journey with many difficulties, trials and struggles. Each has been a growth process as well as an education of teaching us to serve Him with all that we are with each step that we take. To remind ourselves that God is in charge of each step of that journey He has us on and that means we need to pray, plan, pray, prepare, pray and proceed through prayer, otherwise we can start taking a journey that is off His path intended for us. All that has been accomplished over these years has been one step at a time and each step according to His speed, but we have at times either strayed off, gotten ahead or dragged our feet on the path He illuminated before us, because we attempted to accomplish in our own strength or timing. All of that gets in the way of His Sacred Pace. Those are hard lessons to walk through and there is a need to remember those so that we can educate ourselves, so we don’t do them again.

Global Ministry

The first 19 years God has led us to Croatia to share His love through the teams He has put together, while gathered at HiS Place in Sisak Croatia, our home away from home. God has and is growing the global ministry with each step He has us take. More team members involved year after year, more opportunities to share by His opening doors of opportunities in sports camps, library programs, business connections and community outreach through established organizations in Croatia, and taking that journey several times a year. We are excited for year 20 this summer and have big plans for a celebration to glorify God through the Texas Carnival as well as the camps and programs in the community

Local Ministry

For many years, we prayed for a warehouse to call home and house all the sports equipment donated year after year. In 2019, God provided that property to house more than just equipment, He provided 10 acres of ministry possibilities to love people through animals that were donated, creations of nature He made and buildings He provided the manpower and finances for. We are in the midst of a long journey constructing and completing the God Garage, a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse, that will be our ministry headquarters, 8,000 sq. ft. to house the thousands of pounds of sports equipment and 1,900 sq. ft. covered front porch, call Lords Landing, that will look over the entire property. The years since 2019 have been filled with steps on a journey with God to accomplish where we are and to prayerfully go where He has created the vision of HiS Place. As you walk through each year, please take notice of where we started and what was accomplished each year and now that we have built the concrete foundation of the God Garage, will you join us in praying for the finances to complete each step moving forward. Each step on this journey has been exciting while hard, trusting while facing difficulties, while reminding ourselves to remain vertically focused on Him to guide us through and correct us if we have overstepped or gotten off His path.

Glocal Ministry

We have been privileged to collect equipment locally to ship around the world and share with those who don’t have access. This has been an absolute blessing and opens the opportunity to share His love through conversations with those who receive the equipment. From this, we have received several invitations to visit and we pray one day God will provide those opportunities to share with them in person.
We have been blessed time and time again with donations coming from Universities, High Schools, clubs and individuals. We got a nice gift from two MLB players through New Balance at the end of the year. We were able to use the equipment allowance they gave us to buy some really nice baseball cleats to send overseas.

Currently, we are without a warehouse space and have to store all the equipment collected in warehouses across the city, storage units, shipping containers and people’s garages. Please keep us in prayer as we raise the finances to complete the next step of buying and putting up the building. The foundation is completed and when God is ready to build and the finances have been provided, we will proceed with the building process.

Journeys will help us keep perspective when you pause, take a step back, observe what’s been done, see where you are, and envision the path forward. However, more often than not, we take a journey with the destination becoming the singular goal and never stop long enough to be thankful for where we are, taking in the beauty that surrounds us. Every one of us is on a life journey. That journey has a purpose, and we often don’t pull over and just pause, spend time in park, which is very important for all of us, so we can rest, revive and respond. Journeying on God’s path, living out His will and trusting Him for our daily bread takes simple faith that’s difficult for us to incorporate, because we want to get there now instead of enjoying the steps of faith daily. Doing that, allows us to understand the wisdom we’ve gained in that step, the education we received while walking out that step or the insight envisioned and faith that was strengthened because God had us take that step on the journey He has each of us on!

Keep on that journey God has you on and we will do the same. Remember to pay attention to His signs, listen for His instructions and take it one step at a time.

HE DID IT!
David
