Success Should Never Be Measured By Human Standards When It Comes To God’s Work

The Texas Day Carnival may not have had as many people as we’ve had in most years past, but God opened up many eyes to witness what He wanted seen. For those who came as well as for our team. Never know where or how God will show up. You just have to step back, pause, to be still and observe what He creates.

Texas Carnival

We had a lot of competition this year that may have removed numbers from attending, but smiles were prevalent on everyone and enlightenment came to many who had never been before. First, there was a huge patriotic concert in Zagreb the same night and they had sold over 500,000 tickets. There are less than 4,000,000, people in the entire country of Croatia, and they were traveling from all over the country, including Sisak. It was also extremely hot when we started at 6:00, which made people hold off coming until 7:00 when it started to cool a bit.
I had a couple with a young child walk up to me as we were setting up, asking what is going on. When I explained, they said they were on their way to eat and would return after it began. They had never heard of Texas Carnival for the 30+ years they have lived there, until now. Their daughter enjoyed all the games and I think I caught a glimpse of her dad trying his hands in a couple of them.

Sisak Mayor Attended the Carnival

We had a very distinguished guest join us this year, which was the newly elected major. Since we had a great relationship with the last administration, we were not sure how we would be received or even allowed to host the carnival at the River Park downtown. We prayed, made our plans to do so and then handed them over to God. What He did was amazing and He flew open the doors of opportunities. The city paid for all the expenses associated with the carnival and the Mayor personally came down to see what the activities were. Meeting him and observing him going from booth to booth to meet our team and play a game or two was such a blessing. He may have even tried a s’more.

Carnival Wrap-Up

At the end, I had the team come up to the stage and gather around me so that the people of Sisak could see the team God brought together to fly 6,000 miles from the USA and spend their vacation time in Sisak with HiS Print. All to love people where they are and until they ask why.
I spoke about the history of HiS Print and explained why Sisak has become my 2nd home. I shared that many of the 200 people that have come to Sisak with HiS Print over the past 19 years feel exactly the same. I then invited one of our new team members to come up and share HiStory which is tied into His Story. People listened intently, and one family came up after Jonathan finished and asked him to pray with them.

Thank you again for backing us up and standing with us through your support. Each of you are standing shoulder to shoulder with us, even though you are not physically seen, your spiritual support is felt.

When the weather cooled, the crowd showed up!

My mind is already filled with possibilities for next years 20 years of HiS Print in Sisak! It's crazy to think that in the blink of an eye it’s been 20 years since God first brought us here.

HE DID IT!
