2025 Blog 2: Spring

Right Before Your Eyes

Wow what a crazy pace these past several months have been. Personally, it’s been a challenge with recovering from my bicycle accident and hip replacement surgery in early February. It’s a slow process and frustrating at times with trying to still get a stronger hip after surgery on my other hip 3 years ago, along with this most recent one, on two knees that also need to be replaced; needless to say it’s been painful and hard. I do see small increments of success and feel like I’m improving, just not as fast as an old coach would like for it to be. I keep telling myself to rub some dirt on it and get back out there! It hasn’t worked and I just keep getting dirtier, but it also hasn’t stopped me, just slowed me down a bit.

February and March were also months filled with huge blessings and milestones. I was blessed to be asked by two couples to officiate their weddings. So my bride and I had the pleasure to walk through some premarital counseling with each and on back-to-back weekends in late March, I had the blessing of uniting them before God in marriage. Middle of March was also the five-year anniversary of our daily pod cast Soul Medicine. It has been such a pleasure studying God’s word and share a scripture with anyone who wants to listen. Our treasurer and administrator Debbie Page, does all the hard work, by downloading what I say, adding scripture to it and posting it on all the social media outlets. Soul Medicine wouldn’t be possible without her.

Spring Football MiLO

Although I was unable to travel to Croatia in March, Mike Norman, our HiS Print American Football Coach, went and coached the Croatian National Flag Football team that we hosted at HiS House. We have had the opportunity to do this for several years now and it was been a pleasure to work with these young men. Mike is always eager to return and is a huge blessing to HiS Print and has built some wonderful relationships, over the past 14 years of serving.

Pray for Sasha & Marina (Ukraine)

I also had the wonderful pleasure of praying with and for one of our ministry partners in Ukraine in late March as well. Being able to communicate through modern technology and see and pray with Sasha and Marina was really heartwarming and I would like to ask you to pray for them as well. They are in the midst of war, raising three children, doing ministry and they just found out that Marina has breast cancer. She has several appts with doctors this month to see what direction they will proceed to best treat. Please PRAY!

His Place Development Update

The DIRT PAD for the GOD GARAGE is complete! PRAISE GOD!!

We are praying for the finances and construction of the next step which is the concrete foundation for the 10,000 square foot God Garage. It will be our HiS Print headquarters and home for the hundreds of thousands of pieces of equipment God collects so we can share around the world.

The 1,900 square foot front porch will overlook the entire HiS Place property and will allow us to host picnics, Bible studies, concerts and many other fellowship opportunities to gather people together to worship Him and enjoy what He has created.

Sports Equipment Ministry

We continue to get requests from around the world and God continues to provide the equipment to send, allowing us to love people where they are! We recently sent shipments off to Kazakhstan and have requests from the Republic of Georgia, Turkey, European Baseball & Softball Federation and Poland; along with many others. The blessing of providing over 170,000 pounds of equipment in the past to teams across the globe in 45 countries, still amazes me. This allows us to love those who we share with where they are, while we may not be able to love them in person. God continues to open doors in the Glocal ministry, by sharing globally what He has provided locally.

We have also been blessed with several donated items. Mississippi State University sent us over 100 pair of brand new baseball and softball cleats and over 20 top quality bats. Amazing blessing. We also have several high schools who have contacted us about donating football gear and a select baseball organization called The Twelve has also provided much needed baseball equipment in the past and have called us to collect come more. So in the next couple of weeks I’ll be busy driving across Houston and around the hill country to pick these items up.

It is extremely difficult to accomplish shipping and to properly store all that continues to be donated, so please continue to join us in praying over the development of God’s Garage so we can be better stewards of what God is providing for the requests that come in from around the world. Currently we are getting so many donations that we can start to throw away old gear that is out of date. Shoulder pads are a great example. We have many older pairs of pads that are not as protective as the newer equipment that’s being donated. So, this past Friday I spent the day removing parts that can still be used off of these old pads that were no longer safe.

His Place Work Day

It is always a pleasure having people come out to serve by providing much needed help with projects we have or just general maintenance activities, like morning, weed eating, or feeding or cleaning animal stables. These men came from Katy and helped us with rebuilding our picnic tables and staining them. A few of those tables needed new boards to replace warped ones, and they all needed a fresh coat of stain. They look brand new and are ready for you to bring out your pole and catch a fish or two while enjoying some family time around a picnic table.

Enjoying the Animals

We also get visitors from time to time that come out to enjoy the animals and of course you gotta feed them. The animals love it when people come out to visit because they get the special treat of extra goodies to eat. One of the young men I disciple, Paden Wiess, brought his young son out to see and feed the animals. We’d love to have you come and visit and I can guarantee the animals would greatly appreciate it and love you for it!

Thank you for all your support, prayers and patience! All are needed and appreciated. Have a wonderful God filled week and weekend and remember Jesus loves you and so do I! He loved you enough to go to the cross so you could have new life. Happy Easter!

HE DID IT!

David
