Fall/Winter Blog:  Roads Open and We Walk With Him Leading

It has been extremely busy these past two months and I’m not sure I could keep your attention with my words describing everything, so I am going to leave it up to the pictures to say 1,000 words and I’ll just give a short overview of all that has happened.

His Place (Alvin, Texas)

Entrance to HiS Place. Come on out and visit us!
Things are moving right along out at HiS Place. We have accomplished a lot, but a lot still needs to be done. Construction of a God Garage (10,000 sf) warehouse needs to be built to house all the donated equipment to be shipped around the globe. However, currently the animals are waiting for your visit!
Longhorns love to be fed and will come right up to you but be careful of those horns.
The pond has been dug and it holds water! We don’t have fish yet, but there is a kayak with your name on it. Or you can be like me and just sit by the water and enjoy the peacefulness of being quiet.

Pond is waiting for your line or a paddle around the island. Or just come out and sit in His presence.

Speaking Engagements

The opportunity to speak at different events and venues was a real blessing. God continues to open doors to raise awareness of what HiS Print is all about as well as sharing my story with God’s story.

Had the opportunity throughout the summer to speak and share God’s word around a pool in El Campo, Texas. This RV Resort, called Lost Lagoon, offers church services every Sunday in the summer and as well as busy weekends in fall and winter. This has been a time of sharing what God lays on my heart with the audience He chooses to have attend.

I was invited to come and do chapel service for the Victoria East HS football team prior to their second-round playoff game. Love the opportunity to share with young men with a passion to play sports and Head Coach Charlie Reeve is a dear friend who asked me to come share. Unfortunately, they didn’t win, so I may never be invited back.

Fellowship at His Place

One Saturday evening a group of 20 men from a Bible Study I am involved with came out to HiS Place for a night of fellowship and burgers. We had a wonderful time, and I was able to take them on a short tour of the property. They loved feeding the longhorns. I wish I had pictures to prove it!

Live Event

God opened the door to share at an event called the Remarkable Conference. I was asked to share on discipleship. A dear friend, Pernell Hill and his colleague Jason Hall, put the conference on and had 7 speakers come and share on different disciplines.

Workday at His Place

We were blessed to have a workday out at HiS Place with a group of brothers and sisters from Simonton Community Church. They drove a long way and spent several hours painting and staining, giving the tortoise enclosure benches and donated tack barn a whole new makeover. We look forward to having them come back out in the spring and we will be sure to have plenty for them to do. That’s an invitation to all of you. Want to come out and help, we will be sure to keep you busy.

Here is an example of their work and the remarkable difference they made. The total makeover of the donated field skid we have made into a Feed Barn:

Equipment Donations - Uganda

We remain busy with shipping smaller amounts of equipment around the world. God has created new ways to allow us to ship when requests come in. To Uganda, we were able to send equipment to New York to a sports marketing firm who was going there to film the game between Kenya and Uganda. They heard about us through the Uganda football president and they reached out saying they would pay for us to ship to New York and then they would carry it as extra luggage. We were able to send 160 pounds worth, which was enough to outfit 12 players.

Along with the chin straps, shoulder pads and pant pads, we were able to send some jerseys from Manvel High School. When the Uganda team received them, they loved them so much they immediately decided to make them their national team jerseys and had Uganda put on the front and back. That is pretty special.

Turkey Football Connection in Houston

I recently met Hayden Flowers who is a lawyer from the Woodlands and use to coach football in Turkey for many years. One of the teams that requested some equipment from us happened to know Hayden and gave each of us the contact information for the other. We met and through that meeting we were able to supply him with several helmets and shoulder pads for him to carry over with him at the end of October. I look forward to continuing the friendship with Hayden and see what God does through that.

Local Support for Players in El Campo, Texas

Every so often we find out there is a need in our own backyard and it’s a blessing to help those in need here in the US. We found out, long story how we found out, that there was a set of 14-year-old twins in El Campo that needed size 14 tennis shoes and cleats and they were having trouble finding shoes to fit. We happened to have some 14’s around the storage unit and we were able to help them in this special way.

Visit from Croatian Football Coaches

In late October we had two young men from Croatia come and visit us for 10 days. Dino and Ante both play and coach football and wanted to come and enjoy and observe some games. Enjoy they did! They went and saw an 8th grade game, 3 high school games, Baylor vs. UH game and to top it all off, they attended NRG and watched the Texans play Tampa Bay. Quite remarkable and wish I had pictures to prove all that, but I wasn’t the one who took them to enjoy those things. Brandon Hoybach, our HiS Print Director for Football got the privilege. When Dino and Ante were with me, we were busy picking up equipment, packing equipment and working out at HiS Place. They assured me they enjoyed every bit of it and gave them the opportunity to see all that HiS Print does behind the scenes.

Packing gear for destinations around the world. They were very eager to help.

I hope the pictures were able to give a little insight to what God continues to do through HiS Print and we could sure use your continued support of prayer. As I get older, energy seems to become harder to come by, but through His strength I am able. Blessings to each and every one of you and may the Lord’s peace and joy overflow through you to those around you, wherever He leads you.

HE DID IT!
