Fall 2023 - Blog 1

Shipments Coming In and Going Out

“Come and see what the Lord has done, how awesome His works in man’s behalf.” Psalm 66:5
What a whirlwind of activity both personally and with the ministry. I won’t go into detail on the personal front in this blog but if interested and want to pray specifically for our families, feet free to reach out and I can give you details. We are all good but have some health issues with Baby Doll and myself as well as with aging parents.

The global outreach through HiS Print continues at a snail pace, but we are doing what we can with supplying the requests that we continue to receive. With no warehouse, we are not able to inventory, pack, stack and ship, but God has used some innovative options these past several weeks.
Current Warehouse situation. Not the best, but still a blessing
Praise God for Wayne and Robyn Zeilke and their WAZ Service Machine shop. They have graciously allowed us to store 40 foot and 20 foot shipping containers in their yard to allow us to put some of our inventory of donated equipment. We currently have equipment in 4 shipping containers, 2 large storage units, three personal garages, one medical warehouse in the medical center as well at The Woodshop in Texas City (Thank you Terry Hurd).  Needless to say, it is extremely difficult to collect from each of those places and find a place to properly clean it, inventory, pack and ship.

These past two weeks we had two requests for American football equipment to be shipped to Kazakhstan, and Wayne allowed us to set up a canopy and use his shipping yard to prep and prepare to send these shipments off. He also let us set up two tables at the back of his shop and his niece and her friend came and helped me clean shoulder pads one afternoon. Our makeshift warehouse got the job done and only makes me pray more for our God’s Garage to be built in the future. It's a huge blessing and wouldn’t have been accomplished without their provisions. All in all, Wayne and Robyn have supported HiS Print and HiS Place in so many ways I couldn’t begin to list them all. I have them stored up in my memory and heart and will never forget the support they have provided as well as countless others.

Shipment to Kazakhstan

Without having a warehouse we have been unable to supply these teams across the world with the equipment they have requested, but God used a couple of innovative ideas to make these happen.

The first shipment was sent out on August 17. It was from someone in Kazakhstan that we have helped in the past, Pavel, and he had placed this request almost two years ago. Because of my health and the lack of proper facilities to pack, stack and ship; we were unable to help. Well that didn’t stop Pavel, he continued to try and find a shipping company to come to Houston and pick up the loose gear and pack it themselves. After several attempts, that was accomplished and a company come to us and picked up the loose gear and packed and shiped it themselves. We were able to send them 45 helmets, 45 shoulder pads and 45 pants and jerseys.  What a blessing and relief it was to finally use the supply of equipment God has collected.

Donations Pouring In

This supply of what God continues to provide seems to never end. He provides and we go collect. It has been crazy this past month on how much we have collected or received from all over the state of Texas and from several other states.

Donation from College Station, Texas

I traveled to College Station and collected 22 boxes filled with over 750 baseball and softball uniforms from The 12 (a select baseball team.)

Donation from Baseballism

We received over 300 t-shirts from Baseballism that they gifted to us so that we could promote the game of baseball across the world.

Donation from Tennessee High School

A high school near Memphis Tennessee sent over helmets, shoulder pads and pants that we were able to use as part of the shipment to Kazakhstan.

Donation from Berry Miller Jr High (Pearland, Tx)

Coach Jason, Berry Miller Junior High School, heard from other coaches in Pearland about what we do and got in touch with me to come and pick up 145 shoulder pads, as well as 150 jerseys and a bunch of pant pads. We hit the jackpot.

Donation from Katy, Texas

Got a call one day in late August from a couple in Katy who had heard from their missions pastor that we collect and ship donated sports gear. Michael asked if I would be interested in a couple sets of golf clubs. I gladly accepted and drove to Katy to pick them up.

Trip to Kazakhstan via Alabama!

With all of this equipment we are rapidly running out of storage space. But the requests keep coming in so we know God has a plan for all of it. On Sept. 14, Brett Posey and I loaded a trailer with 89 shoulder pads, 75 football helmets, 100’s of pant pads, 114 pants. 75 jerseys and a lot of other football accessories and headed off to Enterprise, Alabama where a gentleman was willing to pack up the gear and put it on a container he had going to Kazakhstan.
Trailer loaded and ready for the trip to Alabama.
It was a long trip there but such a blessing to drive and spend that time with Brett, having the opportunity to catch up and spend time with God and together.
BP and me ready to 'tackle' the road to Alabama.
GPS says 9 and a half hours, but it took us close to 12.
We made it safely and unloaded at a warehouse owned by Hakan, who was gracious in allowing this equipment to go on his container at no charge. Huge benefit for us as well as the teams in Kazakhstan. God using people to share His love around the world. I developed a small bond with Hakan while we were there and we are to stay in touch in the future about other shipments he may be having head that way.

Thanks so much for your support and please join us in prayer over the financial provision for God’s Garage to store all the equipment He continues to collect and share with the world, which will allow us to properly store, inventory, clean, pack, stack and store it. God is in control and He has taken us this far, we know He would not leave us here without a home.

Blessing and another blog will be coming out later in the week, showing all that He is doing out at HiS Place. So be on the look out.

HE DID IT!
David
