2023 April/May Update

Blog-Time With...

I am going to age myself here but have no better way to explain what has happened lately. Have you ever felt like the song from the late 70’s "Fly Like An Eagle" by the Steve Miller Band? It starts out by saying, “Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping into the future.” How many of you sang the song as you read it and can actually relate to the feeling those words say.  Those words have become the lyrics of your life? That’s what it has felt like trying to write this blog for the past two weeks. I have thought through, I have prayed, and have sat down several times to start writing to inform you of what is going on, what has happened, and what is planned. But time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping into the future! Or sometimes it’s like Paul Simon’s 1977 hit “Slip Sliding Away, You know the nearer your destination, The more you're slip sliding away!”  Without God leading, life can feel like both those songs and even when we allow Him to lead, how quickly we can get vertically unfocused and slip! Reminder for us all to keep God at the forefront in all aspects of our lives.

Now let me try to write this yet again. So much is going on that I’m not sure where to start, which also causes a breakdown in communication, and for that I apologize.

HiS Place

Currently, we are in the middle of our construction project at HiS Place, pushing dirt, digging a pond, and creating all the components that will be used for his glory when completed. With that being said, we have had some major setbacks; weather, construction personnel, and finances. We would appreciate your prayers for our discernment, in being good stewards with what God has provided. He has provided these beautiful 10 acres of land to be used to share His love through developing relationships locally. We have been able to start the project since receiving all the necessary permits from all county departments, as well as the $71,450 necessary to complete this step in the development, which includes: digging a one acre fishing pond, developing and grading a sports field, creating and elevating the prayer walk trail around the property and clearing and elevating the two foundations of the 10,000 sq.ft. equipment garage and a small outdoor Chapel. Crazy busy and it is neat to watch the steps develop in front of us, step by step, to help complete the journey God has us on.

Summer MLO

The summer MiLO is being planned for the return of the Texas carnival and baseball and football camps in Croatia! Currently we have eight people God has called to join us in late June and early July. The Texas carnival will be held in downtown Sisak on July 1 and baseball and football camps are planned for the following weeks, July 3-6. Please be in prayer for all these summer plans, that our preparation align with God‘s plan. We go to love them where they are and love them till, they ask why by sharing God’s love through his son Jesus Christ.

Community Awareness

I have been blessed throughout the spring with opportunities to share my life story, as well as God’s a story, which together makes HiStory, and how God has used HiS PRINT. From speaking in Gonzales, Texas, in late January, sharing at a men’s prayer breakfast in Magnolia at Magnolia Bible Church and in The Woodlands at WoodsEdge Church, sharing at a men’s retreat in Livingston, being one of the speakers at Believers Challenge in Montgomery County, as well as preaching in El Campo, Texas; God has allowed awareness of what he has been doing throughout the world by sharing his love through the ministry! Some of those events were recorded, while others were not; for those that were recorded, and if you would like to listen, the links are provided below.

I have also been invited to conduct the chapel service for the football team at Victoria East High School on May 18th before their spring game. A dear friend of mine and a huge supporter of HiS Print just got the head coaching job in January!

Equipment Ministry

Equipment donations and requests continue to flow into the ministry. As most of you know, we are without warehouse space, which does not allow us to properly store and prepare equipment for shipping, which is the main component to get accomplished out at HiS Place, We need to be good stewards of what God has collected by sharing with the world. The 140,000 pounds we have shared around the world will be matched, by all that has been collected and the requests that keep coming to us once we get up and running with a new warehouse (God’s Garage). The picture below shows where God has opened those doors to share in the past.

HiS Place Donations

We have also received several blessings from items donated that will be used at and around HiS Place when construction is complete. One such item was a 40ft oil field skid (Container) that is divided into two 20ft rooms. It will be used as our barn for animal feed storage and food prep on one side and storage on the other. It is equipped with two sliding doors and each end has double doors for easy access. It is also fully wired for electricity both inside and out. God saw our need and brought us that skid to affectively take care of HiS Herd. We have had push mowers, weed eaters, riding lawn mowers, zero turn mowers, hedge and tree trimmers and so much more. When the grass grows we are ready, but will need your volunteer help to accomplish all those tasks, so come on out and join us. I guarantee we will put you to work.

Cookie Delivery

Lastly, allow me to share a neat God thing that happened completely out of left field and the process God used to complete the mission from start to finish was remarkable. I received a phone call one evening in late April, from a friend who had heard that that a truck driver that had two pallets of frozen brownies and cookies that were going to have to be thrown away, if someone couldn’t use them. The person who knew about HiS Print, called me around 5:00 in the evening. He told me that the truck driver was coming from Austin and would arrive at 8:30 that night, with two pallets of frozen cookies. That got me busy looking for a way for us to say yes and let them go to waste. We needed to find a storage place, personnel to unload them off the truck and places to distribute them before they went bad. God orchestrated the place, brought together 15 youth and adults, and through several phone calls we were able to find homes for every box. We took the 54 cases that night, storing them for the night and the next day got busy passing them out to local ministries and firehouses across Pearland. It was a true blessing to use those food items for a good cause, instead of having them tossed in a garbage bin and waste away. The blessings for those who received was neat to witness through the sharing of what God provided, even from the least likely sources. Praising God for frozen cookies and brownies and so are some local fire men and women, as well as homeless men and women across Pearland and Houston.

Please be in prayer for the construction provisions, summer MiLO and continued equipment pick-up and distribution; your support is greatly appreciated. If God lays us on your heart, reach out and we can share with you personally in more detail. Have a wonderful God filled day and remember Jesus loves you and so do I!

HE DID IT!
David
