Earthquake Update

This is the time of year I am usually writing you blogs from our spring MLO while in Croatia, but since Covid restrictions are still in effect, we are still unable to travel overseas. However, ministry continues on with a lot happening and a lot to coordinate locally at the warehouse with shipping equipment and at HiS PLACE with building and expanding the property to overseas with so much activity going on in and around HiS HOUSE with earthquake recovery teams coming to work, providing much needed support of those who were affected greatly by the devastating quakes.

I will fill you in on local stuff in the near future, but for now wanted to share more of what is happening in Croatia, our second home. Below is an email written to me by our in-country disciplers Stefan and Arie, and it explains the details of all that is going with the efforts to help.

Please take time to read, but especially pray, it would be greatly appreciated.

From Stefan:

The alignment of volunteer work with the legislative framework and standards for volunteering is particularly important in times of crisis as the earthquake-stricken residents of Sisak-Moslavina County are currently facing. HiS PRINT Ministries is involved in providing various assistance to the residents of our County and is aware that help will continue to be needed, and with this goal has decided to create a sustainable system of volunteer management within its organization.

On Saturday, February 6, 2021, a representative of the Sisak Local Democracy Agency, which operates the Sisak Volunteer Center, held a workshop on the legislative framework for volunteer coordinators of HiS PRINT Ministries, during which specific volunteer positions are planned according to the needs of the association. We invite associations and institutions that need support in developing or improving the volunteer management system to contact us.

Workshops held within the project "Volunteer Network" and "Volunteer Center Sisak" funded by the Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, and the City of Sisak.

Different organizations, ministry leaders and members have visited HiS HOUSE since the earthquake and had several meetings on how to collaborate together to provide the necessary help and share the Gospel. One of the missionary in Croatia has created a Gospel handouts with a title “How come God is allowing this ?”

By visiting families in affected areas, there are many opportunities to just listen to people needs. Many people are welcoming us in their house and out of their loss, they are offering themselves and little what they have to welcome you in their container or a camp house, house that is partially damaged, and they are glad to have you as a company there. Volunteer teams have find out many needs that are written down and some of them already met. People are in need of stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, closets, other electronic devices and furniture.

A group of friends and churches from Germany send already a big truck of construction material and tools, including a big container. They are also planning to send teams of volunteers to come and provide a help in construction and other areas. We have teams working out in the community as well as at HiS HOUSE to feed the people working. God’s army of Hands and Feet.

Continue to pray that we love the people where they are, and that we follow God steps, to leave His Print that invites others to come closer to God and receive His love. That is our why, Amen

Many people lost so much. May we be encouraged that nothing done for the Lord is in vain. Continue to pray, love God’s church, love one another, may we not be just hearers of God’s word, but doers and not just listeners, but that we obey the Lord and do what we can by God’s Grace.

Together we can! Amen

Thank you for continual support and prayers. Arie and I are thankful to be able to help. We are seeing many opportunities to be available. Janko has been working diligently to connect many organizations and volunteers to collaborate in this earthquake relief outreach project. Martina and Lordan helped to find volunteers and organizations as well who donated aid to help families in need.

Love, Stefan

Thank you for your prayers and support in helping the people of Croatia and the prayers of protection for the teams that come and serve in the name of HiS PRINT!

HE DID IT!

David
