2019 Summer MLO Blog 13

Blog 13

Have you ever had those moments where you shake your head and think, “What just happened?” Well, it seems I am doing more and more of that these days. Some of it may be because I am another year older and my memory is losing some of its longevity, or that so many things are happening around us that I can’t even begin to put them all down in words. I am just touching the tip of the icebergs in the blogs I am posting and there is so much more going on within HiS PRINT that it would be impossible to put it down on paper and not create a novel.

Stefan sharing his story with baseball campers

Just to mention an overview of what has been happening this week: baseball camp where we had over 60 participants from 5 countries, dance camp, drama camp (I challenged Emily, one of our seasoned young women, to put together a non-verbal gospel message presentation, can’t wait to see it), SOS Orphanage visit in Lekenik, Children’s Library Program in Sisak, City Library Program in Petrenja, while feeding over 80 and housing 48 people at HiS HOUSE. I have asked several of the people involved in those activities to help me tell the story by giving me their experience in their own words. Prayerfully, some of those will be posted soon!

Two more Moss Family team members

Debbie and I were blessed again by having two more of our great nieces join us yesterday. They will be a big part of the ministry next week when we continue several of the community service programs and add a couple of more. The camp continues to go strong and we were blessed on the final day with a drop in temperatures. The final day we had our annual Baseball Olympics and crowned two Champions, one from the older campers and one from the younger! It was such a blessing to witness all the laughs and see the smiles across the faces of the players as well as the coaches! Take a good look at the t-shirts! Gonna be on chests across The Balkans and Ukraine!

Football coaches in Serbia

All of our football coaches arrived and the 4 of them headed off to Serbia to begin a two-week 4-stop football camp tour in 3 countries. We have scheduled camps in Novi Sad, Serbia; Kraljevo, Serbia; Sarajevo, Bosnia and Split, Croatia. They will be busy with camps and with travel so Brandon, Mike, Zach and Blake could all use your prayers!

Gifting equipment to local missionaries
There is a story that I would like to share with you but if I were to share all the God moments and Godbumps it produced it would take much longer to write and read than either of us have time for. But just to entice you to ask me more about it in the future, I will share some of the highlights.

This past Thursday I met two missionaries, Jerry from Dallas and Nick from South Africa. They are serving together in Zagreb and needed some help. They were planning on doing a baseball camp in a small village near Zagreb, because they had a team coming from a church in Texas who were bringing the equipment and going to do the camp (several of them were past baseball players) Well it just so happened that the team was unable to come and the equipment they were bringing was also not coming. Jerry had set up the camp and didn’t want to disappoint the kids so he started to pray. He was talking with a friend in Zagreb about what was going on and he knew Janko and that HiS PRINT helped with this sort of equipment problem. Jerry reached out, we sent him the equipment request form, he filled it out and we provided him with the equipment. The only thing he needed to do was come and pick it up.

3 weeks later, this past Thursday, he and Nick came to Sisak to pick up the equipment. We met at HiS HOUSE and had a great visit, showed them around, they asked about HiS PRINT and I shared who we are and why we spell HiS the way we do. Then gave them a tour of the facility, which they enjoyed and were overwhelmed with all that we have been able to accomplish. After the tour I asked them if they would like to see the baseball field and they eagerly said yes. So, we loaded the baseball equipment and headed to The NEST! When we got out they couldn’t believe their eyes. A full-sized baseball field right here in Croatia in the small city of Sisak. I showed them around and explained the field of weeds, to dreams, to FAITH logo that was on the stage in left field which they loved. Now comes the real Godbumps: Jerry asked when he would need to bring the equipment back and I said it was theirs to do ministry with. He couldn’t believe it and became emotionally touched by the gesture. Then he proceeded to tell me that the Lord had revealed to him, during his prayer time back in early May, that he needed to go to Sisak and do a prayer walk over the river walk and downtown. He had never been to Sisak and had no ministry here, but he was obedient to the Lord and came. He spent three or four hours doing it and the Lord revealed to him that something big was going to be happening here. Well, where he prayed is where we do our Texas Carnival. More on that later. We finished our visit and handed each other our business cards and when Nick handed me his it said Christian Business Club. More on that in a future blog. Needless to say, he was extremely interested in our March Business Seminars!

Satan has Attacked, but Christ Gives us Strength!

Attacks that Satan has created around us have been many and some intense. He sometimes wins the battle, but never wins the war and through all the trials and adversities we are constantly reminded that we have the power and strength of the Holy Spirit and He allows each of our little letter “i’s” to win! From sickness and fatigue to twisted ankles and tired bodies, with a few trips to the emergency room; we have been put through the wringer and have been pressed in on many sides. But just as our devotional reminded us on Wednesday, from 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, we are hard pressed on every side and can be knocked down, but with Christ we have the strength to get back up again. I would ask that you keep all our team in your prayers, some traveling around Europe and The Balkans, some traveling home and for those of us remaining, that we would finish strong with another week of ministry.

This last picture I want to share because it reveals what our HiS PRINT team is and what they are willing to do to be the hands of Christ. On the evening before the carnival, we went down to the mosquito infested park and several of our young team members got under the stage to help the stage company put the stage together! I reached under and snapped this photo, not knowing what I would get! Look closely.
