2019 Summer MLO Blog 10

That Macedonia/Serbian Swing and the work we did around HiS HOUSE when we returned really did me in and put me down for quite a while with a really bad chest cold and cough. Praise God, Stefan’s mom is a doctor and she got me some antibiotics and has me well on the road to recovery.

I wanted to show you some pictures of HiS HOUSE and all the work that has been done these past several months to try and get it ready and useable for this summer’s MLO. We have 4 projects in the works: HiS Café & Kitchen (Phase I indoor, Phase II outdoor), Solomon’s Porch and the Upper Room. Our plan was to budget the time & finances for each project individually. However, we had to mix some projects along the way to prevent double work down the road. For instance, we really wanted to get HiS Café and Kitchen up and running for the Summer MLO, but since it is below the Upper Room and Solomon’s Porch and there was a leak that was going into the kitchen below, we needed to take care of the Upper Room and porch by enclosing them and working on the flooring. This was a lot of work and although we are not completely done with the final touches in the Upper Room and Solomon’s Porch, all the major construction is completed and just some other smaller construction projects will be done in the future.

We were also forced to accelerate a portion of the Phase II HiS Café & Kitchen project. The HiS Café external porch doorway has been fitted with a beautiful old character door, but the spring weather has been very rainy and water was leaking under the door. Without a level porch foundation, the water would continue to seep under the frame and ruin the door. In order to preserve the door, we poured the concrete foundation for the café porch. We anticipate completing the café porch as part of the Phase II external work this fall.

Outside of HiS Cafe.  This will eventually be a porch.

We are excited about the expansion of HiS HOUSE and the provision and flexibility it will give us to have a place to cook, eat, and fellowship. The addition of the Café, Upper Room and Solomon’s Porch also provides us with on-site meeting spaces for seminars and clinics. Next Spring when we host our three Spring MLO events (My Utmost Business Seminar, Extra Point Football Clinic, and Intentional Walk Baseball Clinic) we won’t have to rent out conference space at PISAK. Instead we will be able to host and feed all the participants right here at HiS HOUSE! We have a long way to go before all the future projects are complete and even to finish off the projects that are currently in the works, but we have made a great start.

Some of you may not realize that HiS HOUSE is used year-round, not just during the weeks of our MLOs and Clinics. For example, this last week the Croatian National Little League stayed with us for 4 days while they participated in a baseball tournament at The NEST. The Upper Room was packed with 11 and 12-year old players and several of the coaches stayed in the cabins. This is exactly what God intended to happen when He laid this vision on our hearts!

Please be in prayer for the construction projects we have going on now and planned for the near future, and pray for God to use this HOUSE for HiS Purposes!

Blessings to each of you and remember Jesus loves you and so do I!
