Croatian Migration Update!

Wow, what a whirlwind of activities the Croatian Little League players, coaches and parents are experiencing! We have kept them very busy on the field with practices and games, as well as activities around town to visit historical places and to have fun!

Easter Sunday

Sunday was a real highlight for me and the rest of the HiS PRINT team. We extended an invitation for our guests to join us for Easter church services, but we did not make participation mandatory. Well, all 51 people chose to join us for worship services! We followed Easter worship with a picnic and games in the back yard of Fellowship Bible Church. It was a great day of worship, fellowship and fun. Many of the conversations revolved around the Croatians asking us why we do what we do. All of them expressed how much they enjoyed church and the opportunity to share our lives with one another. Many then headed to Galveston for an evening on the boardwalk.

Monday

Monday was a wonderful tour of Minute Maid Park where we walked down onto the field and into the Astro's dugout! We followed the tour with a trip to CiCi's pizza (actually many trips to CiCi's pizza all-you-can-eat-buffet, if you know what I mean!) They couldn't believe you go and eat as much as you wanted!

We topped off the evening with split baseball activities: the Houston A's hosted the younger Croatian players for a game at their home facility in Fresno, while the older players were treated to private pitching lessons and Speed & Agility training with the Fort Bend Texans coaching staff. It was a beautiful night and a tremendous blessing all around. The Houston A's and Fort Bend Texans coaching staff and parents took great care of us!

Tuesday

Tuesday began with practice at the Houston A's facility followed by a terrific Tex-Mex meal at Lopez Restaurant. Jonathan Lopez surprised us with the incredible blessing of proving the entire meal free of charge, and Jim Skaggs gifted us by covering the gratuity for each of the waiters! We couldn't be more filled with the blessings God is filling us with from those here who are providing!

After the wonderful lunch we headed off to George Ranch Historical Park for a wonderful afternoon of Texas history. If you haven't been down to George Ranch, near Brazos Bend State Park, you need to take the time to do it. I had never been and very much enjoyed the visit!

We topped the evening off with a trip to Constellation Field, the minor league ball park in Sugar Land. to watch the Sam Houston State Bearkats play the University of Houston Cougars. Head Coach Matt Deggs of Sam Houston State shook hands with the boys and handed them each a baseball! What a special treat! Toward the end of the game Tyler Stamm, Director of the park, provided a couple of the Croatian Coaches and their wives a tour of the facility including the clubhouse and press box.

Exhausting but Incredible!

This has been such a great time! Although the schedule is crazy and jam-packed, it has all been well worth it and we would not trade it for anything! Blessings to each of you. We appreciate your prayers!
