HiS PRINT Update -A Promise and Guarantee, Are they the Same Thing?
Hello Folks,
Ever felt like you had no say so or any control over what was going on around you? Then top it all off with being in another culture and trying to make things happen at the speed you want it to! It's like fitting a round peg in a square hole! BUT, at least there is activity now and things are moving forward, not stagnant like they were for the past 5 days. I am seeing progress and am blessed by witnessing it all! The meeting we had on Friday with the Sisak city officials and the people responsible for getting the work done on the field went well, as far as I could tell. From the looks of things this morning, the point was made that this needed to get moving quickly. I'm still not sure whether it will be done in time for the grass to grow in thick enough for us to play a European Championship. But we were promised that there would be grass. I tried to bring up the point that there was a difference between having a promise that "there will be grass" and a guarantee that we would have enough grass to play games on! I am sure they will make good on their promise and we will see tiny green blades of grass in the next 28 days, but will it be healthy enough for 10 to 15 games to be played on it? I am doubting it from a earthly farmer's perspective, but am trusting in a creator God who can speak life into existence and make miracles happen! I am praying I will see that on July 16th when we open the European Qualifier Tournament. I do know one thing, God promises He has it and I can guarantee He does, because I have left it at His feet and believe in what scripture tells me!
It was a blessing to hear all the work being done on the NEST, with the trucks bringing in loads and loads of dirt to cover the entire field. The next step is to level it, plant grass seed, roll it and then water the heck out of it! We are doing the preparations necessary to make it happen, now we will pray that the Lord can make that grass grow quickly and as lush as Minute Maid Park. Please join us in those prayers.
Another blessing I received today was getting to umpire a game for the Storks. Their game was scheduled to be played on the NEST, but was moved over to the adjacent soccer field. The Storks fought hard against a superior opponent and lost in 4 innings, 16-4, but it was fun to watch the younglings get out there and try their best. They don't like to lose, which is a good thing, but they also had a good time playing the game.
Please be in prayer for the entire summer MLO and know that we appreciate each and every one of your prayers. I often say to those we come to serve locally in The Balkans that we have 38 team members on the ground, but we have hundreds more traveling before us and with us through prayer! Thank you for joining us in this message of love to those across this region of the world. Your prayers are felt, needed and we would not be able to accomplish all that we have without them.
HE DID IT!
David
