TEXAS CARNIVAL CROATIA STYLE

I am not sure where to start let alone end with Saturday, July 1st, the day of the 8th Annual Texas Carnival. It was an amazing display put on by 38 Americans from 14 different churches, along with 28 Ukrainians who were with us the entire week! Wow, what a display of love we were able to share with the people of Sisak!

But it didn't stop there! As in the past we had several people from neighboring communities and cities, including brothers and sisters from the Croatian capital city of Zagreb. It was such a blessing as well to have several countries represented in the audience. We were thrilled to see people we have come to know and love from Slovenia (where we've done our football camps) who made the trip in for the carnival as well as our new friend Vukasin, from Serbia who is our contact for doing the American football camps this year in Novi Sad. Each of them said that it was amazing event and asked when we were ready to bring it to their countries and cities. God really has opened a wonderful opportunity through this carnival for us to love people right where they are, play games with them and share Christ's love for them through music and presenting the Gospel.

This year Brett Posey, a great friend of mine and member of the HiS PRINT Board, agreed to give his testimony of working with animals at the Houston Zoo as well as working with Shamu in San Antonio and relating it to a relationship with Jesus Christ. It was amazing and very enlightening.

We had a bit of excitement in the band department this year!  We had to put an emergency band together because our band originally we had coming canceled.  The lead singer of the replacement band got sick! So we put together our Mission Band, called "Texas Thunder."  None of the members of the band are originally from Texas, but they played country music and many songs that were about Texas. They also played some special music the following day at church. It was a real blessing watching my grand nephews playing music and my niece singing with them at church!

I would like to close by sharing a blessing that occurred when two organizations, the hockey club from Sisak and puppeteers from Petrinja, had their own booths alongside us.  This was the first time we have had anyone from the country do an actual game or activity booth!

There were so many huge blessings that really are overwhelming, and I could not begin to put them all down on paper. Just know that words can only scratch the surface, a picture can help paint 1000 words, but nothing compares to being here and observing and participating in person! So go update your passport, get your cowboy boots shined and sign up for next years MLO!

The Texas Carnival will be going on next year! Come on and join us!

Remember Jesus loves you and so do I!
