BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE
There have been several things that have occurred these past several days that have blessed me immensely:
- Coach Daniel of The Storks got up in front of the church and shared that HiS PRINT is family and that for 12 years we have celebrated my birthday together! He went on to say how important our work has been and the depth of reach we had made not only in Sisak and Croatia, but to surrounding countries as well! It brought me to tears and reminded me why I come back every year to catch up with a part of my heart I leave behind.
- Nedo Rohrmann is a young man who plays American football in Split that I took to Vienna with me at the beginning of June to the European Christian Sports Union Conference and have been discipling weekly over Skype for the past year. I asked him to share his faith and testimony at the football camp our coaches are running this week. I heard that last night, Nedo stood in front of his peers and teammates and proudly declared his faith in Jesus Christ!
- The last generation of Storks (a team we worked with from 2006 until they fell apart in 2014 when many left for college or jobs in other countries or cities) showed up at HiS HOUSE on Tuesday night! Having not seen most of them for two years it was a pleasant surprise and blessing to catch up with each of them! I found out where most of them were and what life has been doing around them!
- Ivana is a young college woman we met last year who translated for us while we made Food Pantry home visits. She was blessed by being with our team and volunteered again to be with us on our 4 days of home visits. When I saw her one evening in town, I stopped and asked if I could speak with her. I told her how happy and blessed I was that she would come and help us and she told me she could not help but come and be with us, because the love we have showed her and those we visit are nothing like she has ever felt! We talked about faith and what Jesus did! HE DID IT! And why we do, Let's Do IT! Wonderful exchange. The Holy Spirit is working in her heart!
- Mouse man has sent home Raffelo (coconut) ice cream with some of our team members when they have gone downtown! Since I have had the physical ailments strike pretty regularly, I have not been able to go see him and enjoy their wonderful ice cream! That has blessed me each time as it has been Mouseman who tells them to bring it home, not them ordering it for me.
- Another huge blessing has been having my niece Brenda and her husband Marion, with their family of 8, being here as a part of the HiS PRINT team. Witnessing their interaction has been neat to see - all of them from little Emma (3) to Devina 17 (17) and the four others in between! I have asked Brenda to put a blog together so you will hear from her soon.
- Sasha, my massage therapist, has been working on my frozen shoulder and is taking me in on top of his packed schedule late in the evenings because of what we have done for his city! He has been blessed to witness this for these many years and knows many people who have been involved with HiS PRINT! Sasha is getting me back into handshake shape, just not sure he can get me into throwing shape without some surgical intervention. He wants to continue trying and I love the pain filled conversation as he grinds away at the muscles and joint!
All in all, I wouldn't trade in any of the experiences that I have had on this trip, because of what it has taught me. I could do without the pain, but there is even an education wrapped up in that! Continue to look for those ways in which you can love people where they are and love them till they ask why - whether it's 6,000 miles away or 6 feet away.
HE DID IT!
