Ministry Update

Hello Folks,

Happy Mother's Day Weekend!  I pray all is well with everyone and you all had a wonderful, God-filled weekend!!  I just wanted to share an email I got from a missionary named Joel Toonstra (Macedonia) after they returned home from their trip to HiS HOUSE!  I met Joel last March when he and one of his ministry partners came to our Intentional Walk Baseball Coaches Clinic. Since that weekend I have stayed in touch with Joel, and this past April we invited him to come use HiS HOUSE and bring his baseball to team to play with some teams in Croatia. The Storks coaching staff organized a full fledged tournament and the result was a fantastic "Friendship Cup Tournament" weekend for everyone!  The words Joel shared from the wives reminded me of Mother's Day and thought I would share with you all:

The wives loved the house!  and Janko!  

 

Many took the time to tell me that our weekend there was exactly what they needed..... a break from the demands and noises of life and ministry back in Skopje, and a chance to just hang out for two days, watching baseball, not preparing meals, just being......

 

Many have also said they dreaded the 8 hour drive there and then back 2 days later, but that the weekend was so much fun in every way that it was a small cross to bear!

 

We already had a coaches meeting regarding future of baseball here, and have all said we'd love to go back to Sisak again next Spring, and continue growing our relationship with Croatia baseball and our new friends there.  I have expressed this to Nevin and Antonio as well.  

 

You'll have to be there that time, so let's plan that together later this year!

In other news, Illya (the young Siberian man who came to stay with us for two weeks back in 2015) is getting married on June 10th!  He is still pursuing his love of Christ through baseball camps and games in his home town of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. He sends his greetings and love! God has blessed us with year around ministry and I am so excited to see all the hearts and lives we have had the opportunity to pour into over 6,000 miles away!

Last, but certainly not least, we have great news to share about a potential partnership with FCA. Following the Jun 8-11 European Christian Sports Union meeting in Vienna, Dan Britton (Vice President, Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is going to be joining me at HiS HOUSE.  We will spend two days together (June 13-14) discussing future opportunities for HiS PRINT and FCA to walk out ministries together in The Balkans.  

God is so Good.
