Croatia Update
Wow Wow Wow! Words are difficult to use to describe the Saturday activities and the flurry of activity that went on with the team. Saturday was the busiest of all our days on the mission. It started out early with baseball Olympics at camp, sorting of equipment from the shipment for the teams to come and grab equipment, preparing for the Texas Carnival on Kupa and manning the carnival booths in the evening to provide fun for the families of Sisak!
First, the shipment finally came in and have had the local Sisak hockey team come and take all the hockey equipment and three football teams made the trek from several cities, some driving close to 8 hours to pick up the equipment they needed to help their clubs. Marko, the president of the Sharks thanked us over and over, because of how much this equipment would help their club to grow. They have never had equipment that they could issue to new players who were interested in joining the club and they now could do that for those who came and tried out. The National Little League coach was also able to come and pick through the catchers gear, shoes and bats that they would use at the tournament in Poland. This is a blessed opportunity for HiS PRINT to be able to meet needs and share the love of Christ in this way to so many! I would say that we have gotten rid of close to 3,000 of the 8,500 pounds we had in the shipping container! We will now try and make room in the storage garage for the rest of the stuff that will be used in the near future!
The Baseball Olympics for the last day of camp was a huge success like always and the kids had a ball playing the different games and competing against one another! I also shared Jesus being the ultimate sacrifice like the hitter who is asked to sacrifice bunt for the team! We then handed out the T-Shirts and had a group picture!
The carnival set up went smoothly and the carnival was extremely well attended. I will put together more details when I send out the next blog but for now have to head to the little tournament we have going on at The NEST and then heading to Slovenia to start football camp tomorrow morning!
Blessings and thanks for all your support!
David
