March 18: Croatia MLO - God's Continued Provision & Vision

Hello Folks,

Really not sure what to say and not because I don't have anything to say, as most of you know, I am never without that! It's that I am not sure where to begin and once I begin I am not sure where or how to stop. God has continued to provide over and above what we could even think or ask and continues to place a sense of Awe, with every turn we make by creating another opportunity to minister and share!

This whole trip has been filled with wonderful and game changing events and I could not begin to explain them all without writing a short novel! So I will try and list highlights and keep this as short as possible! I am not sure that in the 10 years I have been coming to Croatia and the many Mission Learning Opportunities I have been on, that I have been busier than I have been, the team has been, than this one! The summer MLO's are always jammed packed and jelly tight with activities and opportunities, but this short time window we are here has been filled to the brim with opportunity after opportunity and God has taken us on a ride on His imagination! WOW!

Completion of the Prayer Summit: The response has been overwhelmingly positive and the topic of Unity, Diversity and Teamwork hit the leaders of each church right between the eyes, on top of the head, across the cheek... however you want to describe it, it hit its target! Many of the leaders of the churches were touched to the core and they came face to face with some real trust issues amongst themselves, one body of believers with another! As they came face to face with it, most if not all, sought to do something about it. They all acknowledged that they would help with the Texas Carnival Day this summer which is July 2.

Sisak Storks:  The meeting with the Sisak Storks baseball club went well and they are really gaining momentum in working with the young players who have come along and are interested in baseball from camps in years past. They have enough players to start two teams and they are joining the first ever Croatia Little League! This is so cool to witness and to help start. Meeting with the leadership of the Little League and helping them provide uniforms, gloves, balls, bats and other equipment is such a blessing. We will continue to pursue collecting uniforms from area Little Leagues in the states and are praying many would walk along side us in sponsoring and adopting a team! God has blessed us with those connections but would need and appreciate any of you to help create new ones! If you would like to support the Croatia Little League and sponsor one of the 11 teams that are playing, just let me know!

Budapest, Hungary:  Yesterday I took the team over to Budapest, Hungary.  It should be about a 4 hour drive. However, ours was quite a bit longer since we took Dino, a young man from the Split Football Team who is going to school in Hungary, back to school. He is going to Bible College there and spent the past week with us at the clinic and summit while on Spring Break. Although the school was not on the direct route, it was a pleasure taking him and the delight he had in showing us around his college was priceless. We got to Budapest and visited with Terry Lingenhold who is with a baseball ministry there called Operation Mission. He had brought 17 coaches with him from Hungary for the coaches clinic and I told him I would like to see his operation. It was a joy to spend that time with him and to pray for him and his ministry. He asked if we would be interested in partnering in the future and I told him that if God opens the door, we will definitely walk through it!

The rest of the time, not much unfortunately, we walked and drove around the beautiful city of Budepest! We headed back home and had a wonderful dinner at Coach Daniel's house and ate more than we should, but well worth it and the hospitality of his lovely wife is always heart warming!

Gotta run, we are heading out the door to head to Slovenia and check out an American Football team we have helped start and they are hosting a practice specifically for us to watch. We will also be visiting a missionary we have walked alongside on the border between Croatia and Slovenia. It is neat to be able to visit so many countries in such a short distance!

Blessings and thanks so much for your support!

HE DID IT!

By the way please pray for our team members who are traveling today. 3 more are off to head back home early this morning. It was a chilly 30 degree drive to the airport this morning, so they are looking forward to the warm temperatures back home in Texas!
