Day 5 - Start of Baseball Camp and Equipment Handout

Folks,
I have been trying to keep these blogs to a minimum so that you won't have to read a book every time, but it is extremely difficult to accomplish and I apologize for these short stories and pray they don't keep you reading what God is doing and accomplishing through HiS PRINT! If I were to try and write down all that occurred to day and the emotions attached, I would be writing a novel and realize no one would tackle that!

Today was an absolutely amazing and remarkable day of sharing God's love to the community through the two library programs, the start of the baseball camp (2 sessions) and day three of the dance camp! The library program grew to include over 70 children in the downtown and still around 20 in the other! The children learned about all forms of dancing and our team performed a flash mob dance which was a big hit! They did sand art as their craft and the smiles on their faces showed the enjoyment in their hearts!

The baseball camp was the largest we have ever had for a day one! We had 54 participate and those included several from different towns from around Sisak! Those from other cities are staying at the gym downtown and one evening we will head there to spend some time with them playing and talking! It is such a joy to share the love for baseball and watch these young people soak it all in and for those new to the game, begin to grasp how to play! Spent the last 15 minutes of the evening portion of camp sharing about what a sacrifice meant in the game of baseball, but most importantly what the sacrifice of Christ meant to the world! One highlight during the evening camp was that one of the campers whispered to me that we had not prayed! I smiled and looked at him and said thank you for reminding me! (I hadn't done prayer yet because not everyone had made it to camp yet, but it was nice to know that he felt it was important enough to make sure I didn't forget!)

Rachel and the dance camp has grown to have over 20 girls learning some hip hop and country line dancing! She is doing an outstanding job of instructing and sharing her faith through little activities. These girls love her and are really paying attention to learn. This camp shows the variety of ways God can use anyone and the talent that they possess. Rachel came to after our return home back in 2013 and asked if she could attempt to put on a dance camp! Last year's success and this year's continued impact is affecting a generation of young people that needs to hear God's truth and His love through Jesus!

Well, the 12,000 pounds of equipment has been 95% sorted and organized and we have begun to fill orders that we have received from several coaches and missionaries. Today a could of coaches drove from Budapest, Hungary to pick up some equipment they requested and needed. Coach Terry is an American missionary to Hungary and has a baseball ministry that has 9 teams. They drove the 4 hours here to pick up what we could supply them. Terry told me that he and his wife had a discussion that morning prior to his leaving on whether he should drive their car or take the van! He chose the van and when we finished loading him up, we had the entire back of it loaded and most of the bench seats filled! When it was all said and done, we probably gave him close to 1000 pounds and met 90% of what he was looking for! He and his assistant's eyes were amazed at all that we had in the store room and the gifts of jerseys, pants, socks, belts, bats, gloves, balls and a pitching machine were more than overwhelming to them! Being able to provide these donated items and a few new baseballs and gloves, meant the world to them and saved them a lot of money in their budgets! A great example is when I asked them if they would like some bats and what we had sorted didn't meet their needs, I apologized and said that maybe we could look in several of the bags we had outside that we have not had the time to sort through! I opened the top bag and there on top were several new, still in the wrapper, bats that they needed! We all were almost overwhelmed with emotion! God supplied the need and will continue to do so to more and more teams and coaches who need the equipment! Terry and Chris stayed and had lunch with us and after a time of prayer they headed back to Hungary to share God's gifts of love!

In the evening we held a bonfire out back and had smores with our international friends and had a wonderful time, until the mosquitoes chased us back in and to bed! This has been a wonderful example of God's kingdom working together! From all walks of life and from many different countries and cultures! God has brought us all together and the experience is tremendous!

Blessings to you all and thanks for your support and hope and pray you can catch just a small glimpse of what God is doing through these blogs. I admit I find it difficult to keep them short!

Remember Jesus loves you and so do I!
HE DID IT!
Let's Do IT!
