I talked to David again this evening. Besides the things I mentioned in my earlier e-mail to you, here are a few more things he told me. He said today has been a very good day! He has had some great talks with Janko. He has really opened up and shared some personal things with David and he looks forward to more talks.
Wyatt has been a huge blessing and help to David. He has been a tremendous helper on the baseball field and is very much appreciated by David and the rest of the guys helping out on the field.
Heidi has started painting the Storks logo on their locker room. Pray that she has all the supplies she needs and things go according to her plan and that it will be a visual reminder to all those who walk by that there is a Storks Baseball Club.
The team prayed about it and decided to trust that the Lord would provide the additional funds needed to purchase the lawnmower, so Shannon went to town today with one of the guys from the team and they got a mower. When they brought it back to the field and showed the Storks, David said it was amazing to see the joy and excitement on their faces. They were so excited, they could hardly wait to get started mowing. Tears of joy were flowing plentiful today by our team members and members of the Storks as they started mowing the field and preparing it for the dedication ceremony. David said it was just incredible! Later they all had dinner again at Coach Daniels house and they had a chance to talk. David told the team they had no excuse now, they had to maintain the field, Coach Daniel agreed. They also agreed that Stefan will take ownership of the field while he is home this summer and the fall semester. He was really excited to have this responsibility. There are a couple other guys that don't have jobs, so he already has plans to delegate responsibility to them as well. Prayerfully, he can oversee the field and show them what he has learned in the US so that they can maintain it properly. The Storks also have a new team member named From. He joined the team 7-8 months ago and is a very hard worker. He is excited to be a part of the team and help with the field. Stefan is very excited to have this responsibility. Pray the he follows God's lead in this role and that the others will work hard to please Him.
David also met with the president of the baseball club today. They had a good meeting and they talked about making some changes to improve the club. He thought it was very positive. Praise for the support and encouragement from that meeting.
Tomorrow David, Wyatt and the Storks will work on the field again in the morning and then head to the airport in the afternoon to pick up the other teams coming in. The team will grow by nine. Pray for safe travel for everyone. And also that all the accommodations work out. David will be moving to Little Johns home tonight. There will be four of the guys staying there and the rest will be at Jankos. Also pray for the cohesiveness of the group and that the various personalities compliment each other.
Tomorrow Shannon and Stefan will go to the SOS orphan village to try and make contacts. We are not sure if there will be an opportunity for our team to minister to the children as we found out they let most of them go to the coast this week. However, there will be opportunities to work with Stana and Olga in the evenings with their ministry at the nursing homes. Pray for opportunities there and that God will use our team as he sees fit.
Sunday is the field dedication. They are putting a lot into the dedication ceremony. A team from Zadar will be coming down to play the Storks. JD Harris will throw the first pitch. The president of the baseball club will be there and the mayor of Sisak is also suppose to come. Pray this goes well and that there will be lots of spectators.
Thursday camp starts, so pray all goes well with the planning of that. Continue to pray for the stamina, health and good nights rest for all our team members as they are all working and serving dilligently.
Many Blessings!
David thru Debbie
