July 4, 2011

Earl,
I spoke to David yesterday. He said Sunday was an incredible day there in Sisak. The opening ceremony at the feild was awesome! They put up some stands for people to sit in and they were full. They had a microphone for those who spoke. David got to speak about the field and our team and why we were there and how this all came about. In his speech, he also got to share God's love with all the spectators. He said it was just incredible. He also got to tell everyone that the mower and the field were not just from them, but from financial support and prayers from all of you back home. There were lots of tears flowing! The president of the league also spoke and everyone walking near by stopped to see what was going on. They had Joe ride out on the new mower, with Texas license plates on it that David had brought one of the guys, and bring JD the ball for the first pitch. He threw the pitch to David and the games started. Chris and Grant Page  played in the game. Mario struck out the first batter on the new mound, which he said looks very good. The Storks won 18-8! After the game they had a BBQ for the team. This year they made a goulash of meat and venison. David said it was very good. There were several people that stayed around afterwards to visit with them and it was a great end to a God filled day in Sisak!
Sunday morning, Wyatt played the drums with the priase band at Mochinta. They said he did a great job. Joe got the opportunity to go up during service and share about what our team was doing there in Sisak and Shannon presented them the photo of FBC to let them know that everyone here was praying for them. Katie went to Chruch with Svjetlana and David, Heidi and Rusty went to Bethal Baptist church in Sisak. They asked David to come up and give a sermon. He spoke on 2nd Timothy. Pastor Milosh got a little teary eyed saying that his sermon was going to be on about the same thing. They were all very blessed.
All the kids are talking about the Texas Carnival and how much fun it was. They loved it and can't wait for it to come again next summer!
The women were going to the Nursing home with Stana and Olga at 2;00 on Monday. Shannon is talking to the SOS Orphane village contact about doing a Texas Carnival there next summer. David has a meeting with the woman who owns the bookstore to get contact information and find out more about how she can use our team. The Zadar team is begging our team to come to the coast next summer and do a baseball camp on their field. They are trying to persuade us by reminding us that the coast is right there for swimming! The guys are going to Little John's family vinyard for a tour on Monday and that evening, David has plans to go have dinner with Ivan's brother and his wife who just got married this past year. God has opened so many doors!
Bozo came to the field to see everyone and Rusty and Marko spent a lot of time talking. Rusty thinks Marko is right there, so continue to pray for his Salvation.
Please pray for open doors and that our team and those in their path will recieve many blessings from this trip. Also pray for safety as the teams start returning home on July 6,7 & 8th.
In Christ,
David thru Debbie
