HiS PRINT Update - Blessings in the Making

Folks,

I’m going to try to convey all that has happened on this day, Friday, June 22. Thank you for your prayers concerning the condition of The Nest after the city added & spread the dirt. It was a great blessing to receive the dirt, but (as I mentioned in an earlier blog), it just may be too late for us to host the European qualifier tournament on July 16.

Your prayers were answered when God, the ultimate Gardner, showed up in a huge way. Thursday was very hot (over 95 degrees) so Elvis spent the evening watering the freshly planted grass seed. As usual, God showed up in bigger ways than we can imagine and sent his ultimate sprinkling system to cover the field in over 10 hours of soaking rain. The weather turned from hot to nearly 30° cooler on Friday and the field was watered! Then, in the early evening, the sun broke through the clouds and the grass seeds received the rays of sunshine that are necessary for growth. We could not have asked for a better scenario and are thankful that God wants the field of weeds - to dreams - to faith to be used to glorify His name. I am not sure whether we will have a field full of grass or not, but we can guarantee it will be a Field full of grace. Vuk and I had a great time going by the field on two separate occasions, looking at the conditions and giving God the credit for what was happening!

Vuk, Antonio, Elvis and I spent a lot of the day at the warehouse and HiS HOUSE with football coaches from Hungary. The coaches had driven the 5 hours from Budapest to pick up gear they needed for their three different age levels of teams. We had lunch with them and then went to the warehouse to pack up 30 helmets, 30 shoulder pads, 60 jerseys, 16 pants, and 30 football girdles. As always, it was priceless to see their faces when they first entered the warehouse. Vuk was a huge help in translating and making sure all their needs were met as best we could. Afterward, we came to HiS HOUSE to talk and have coffee before they made their trek back home. I had the chance to share the love of Christ and explain what our ministry was all about. I explained why we have the cross in the middle of the footprint and our desire to share the love of Christ right where they are and until they ask why.  In their case it just happened to be football, and this was the reason we do what we do year after year. One of the coaches said that as soon as they got out of the van and walked up to HiS HOUSE they could feel it was a house of relationship! He also finished the conversation saying that what we did for them was the first time he had been offered any help in 14 years with the club; and that this experience would give him the energy to do it another 14! There were a lot of other neat moments that occurred around the table, but I don’t have the time to detail all of it.

We topped the evening off with a special treat from Vuk who cooked us spaghetti with meat sauce as well as with cream sauce. Both were amazing and couldn’t thank him enough for doing it! Man, I love that guy and our friendship just keeps getting deeper! The love and respect I have for Antonio and Elvis is limitless, and they along with Lordan and Martina are an excellent Croatian HiS PRINT Team. I’m blessed to have them with us!

I will be gone for the next three days traveling with Janko. He’s "Lewis" of the Lewis and Clark duo and we are off to go look at the mountains of Croatia. I’ll try to keep you posted but can’t promise anything! Take care and God Bless. Have a wonderful God filled weekend!

HE DID IT!
