Croatia & Poland Update - October 12, 2013

Hello Folks,

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ AND PRAY - There are some great things happening in Eastern Europe!

Today marks the first ever Croatian Baseball Federation Home Run Derby and All-Star Game in the Federations 22 year existence. This is a huge milestone to reach and to top it all off it is being hosted at, You Guessed it, At The NEST! Incredible to see how God is using this Field of Weeds……………..To Dreams……………….To FAITH!! to share His love, truth and grace!
To top it all off the Mayor of Sisak is there to throw out the first pitch. To give you some recent history, this Mayor was recently elected and soon after election began removing religious symbols, crosses, etc. from public places and was vocal about her view that God did not belong in politics. Now let me remind you of some background history: Marco, a former Sisak Stork, was elected as the Vice Mayor and is second in command, in the same election. He is influencing the mayor in ways we will never know, but needless to say his passion for baseball and for allowing Christ’s light to be shown through him, has influenced her to take part in today big event. When she walks onto that field she will see the sign of Our Steps, HiS PRINT mural painted on the back of the stage and the HiS PRINT Ministry banner on the left field wall.
God is doing some great things there in Sisak through the members and former members of the Sisak Storks baseball club. Please continue to pray for this ministry as we seek God’s leading through us to leave HiS PRINT where ever we go and with who ever we meet!
Quick note from Poland. Most if not all of you know we will be going to do a baseball camp in Poland this summer, right after the Croatia trip and the note below is from Coach Robert, the coach I went and stayed with this last summer when I went to scout out whether God wanted us there. I think from what you will read you will see what God’s answer is.
Coach Robert's email!

Dear David,

We have quite a nice fall here. The trees are covered with so colorful leaves especially along the road to Mazowsze, the same that runs from Czernikowo (where we live) to Mazowsze (where the baseball field is). Nelka likes it so much. We admire the view every day while driving to school and back.

The temperature is about 57F during the day although we had few days with 32F in the morning.

In the end of September I took the team you have met on the field to the Championships. The tournament was organised by the polish Baseball and Softball Federation for the baseball teams with players aged 9-12 from the Northern and Central part of Poland. There were 7 teams participating. We won the 3rd place and the boys got bronze medals. We were so excited, so happy. We spent in Kutno (the place where the tournament was organised) a very nice weekend. We played 5 games, won 3.

On the tournament, on Sunday morning the boys told me they had prayed in the previos evening. I asked them if they would like to do it on a field. So they did it just after the 3rd place game they had won. See the picture and others.

I am planning the end of the season for the players and their families at the end of November or the beginning of December. Would you like to send us a letter, a traditional letter with some words to the players? You could do it sending it on my postal address.
Maybe we could mention something about the camp in the letter?

Stay in touch. God bless you!
Robert
